Dear all -

Thanks to Frances for organizing the check-in calls. May I add another
agenda point? It relates to external review of draft products. It would
be good to route our compiled draft document to a small group of experts
that have not been involved in our project and obtain feedback. At a
minimum, we ought to make sure that our interpretation is correct. For
example, I'd like to get feedback from both Sonoma and Napa POTWs, water
departments, and land use agencies to insure that what we wrote is
correct. There are essentially two levels of review: (a) fact-checking;
and (b) useability and appropriate "register" for the intended
audience(s). My suggestion would be to give all the potentially affected
local agency folks an opportunity to fact-check with a 30-day
turn-around period. For the second type of review, I recommend that we
use the state's Watershed Indicators Council, since they have a vested
interest in learning from us. They have well known experts on their
teams that include Bob Vos from USC, Rich Adams from Oregon State
University, and others.

Lastly, who will develop the "Outreach" strategy/workplan? Who will
prepare appropriate ppts that can then be "canned" and presented by
appropriate "circuit riders" to the NBWA, the BoD for the Sonoma County
Water Agency, the Napa WICC Board, etc.? What follow-up commitments do
we want to obtain from these decision-making bodies, so our initial
effort can go on into the future?

I intend to use draft reports and any canned outreach material to brief
the California Watershed Indicators Council with hours I have available
from a different project, and I expect SEC will do the same to insure
the measly outreach funds in the Score Card project can get augmented by
"All Things Water" dollars. And ABAG and SFEI can insure that
appropriate messages get incorporated into CCA outreach events as well.
I don't think it's too early to think about that and assign work items
to the team members.

Best,

Rainer
